August 16- Jackie Chan says it best:
I didn't work with him. I met him for the first time at the Oscars a long time ago. I was standing in the green room and at that time my English was not very good. I see so many people in front of me and suddenly I hear "Jackie Chan! I'm a big fan!" I didn't respond because it was Robin Williams. I said, "I'm a big fan, great to see you." And then he was gone.
I don't really know him, but I think I've lost my best friend.
ROBIN’S NEW SITCOM LAST YEAR WAS MY ALLTIME FAVOURITE.... OF

ROBIN
WILLIAMS PEACE PLAN
You
gotta love Robin Williams……..Even if he’s nuts! Leave it to Robin Williams to
come up with the perfect plan. What we need now is for our UN Ambassador to
stand up and repeat this message.
Robin
Williams’ plan…(Hard to argue with this logic!)
Robin
Williams, wearing a shirt that says 'I love New York ' in Arabic.
ROBIN
WILLLIANS MADE THIS SPEECH IN NEW YORK .
The
PEACE Plan!
Robin
Williams, wearing a shirt that says 'I love New York ' in Arabic.
Robin
Williams' plan...(Hard to argue with this logic!)
"I
see a lot of people yelling for peace but I have not heard of a plan for peace.
So, here's one plan":
1)
'The US, UK , CANADA and AUSTRALIA will apologize to the world for our
'interference' in their affairs, past & present. You know, Hitler,
Mussolini, Stalin, Tojo, Noriega, Milosevic, Hussein, and the rest of those
'good 'ole' boys', we will never 'interfere' again.
2)
We will withdraw our troops from all over the world, starting withGermany ,
South Korea , the Middle East, and the Philippines . They don't want us there.
We would station troops at our borders. No one allowed sneaking through holes
in the fence.
3)
All illegal aliens have 90 days to get their affairs together and leave. We'll
give them a free trip home. After 90 days the remainder will be gathered up and
deported immediately, regardless of whom or where they are from. They're
illegal!!! France will welcome them.
4)
All future visitors will be thoroughly checked and limited to 90 days unless
given a special permit!!!! No one from a terrorist nation will be allowed in.
If you don't like it there, change it yourself and don't hide here. Asylum
would never be available to anyone. We don't need any more cab drivers or 7-11
cashiers.
5)
No foreign 'students' over age 21. The older ones are the bombers. If they
don't att end classes, they get a 'D' and it's back home baby.
6)
The US, UK , CANADA and AUSTRALIA will make a strong effort to become
self-sufficient energy wise. This will include developing non-polluting sources
of energy but will require a temporary drilling of oil in the Alaskan
wilderness. The caribou will have to cope for a while.
7)
Offer Saudi Arabia and other oil producing countries $10 a barrel for their
oil. If they don't like it, we go someplace else. They can go somewhere else to
sell their production. (About a week of the wells filling up the storage sites
would be enough.)
8)
If there is a famine or other natural catastrophe in the world, we will not
'interfere..' They can pray to Allah or whomever, for seeds, rain, cement or
whatever they need. Besides most of what we give them is stolen or given to the
army.. The people who need it most get very little, if anything.
9)
Ship the UN Headquarters to an isolated island someplace. We don't need the
spies and fair weather friends here. Besides, the building would make a good
homeless shelter or lockup for illegal aliens.
10)
All Americans must go to charm and beauty school. That way, no one can call us
'Ugly Americans' any longer. The Language we speak is ENGLISH...learn it...or
LEAVE. Now, isn't that a winner of a plan?
The
Statue of Liberty is no longer saying 'Give me your tired, your poor, your
huddled masses.' She's got a baseball bat and she's yelling, 'you want a piece
of me?' '
If
you agree with the above, Share or forward it to friends...If not, well I would
be amazed if you DELETED it!!

‘He Brought Them Light’: How
Robin Williams Turned his USO Tours into Personal Experiences for Troops
Tuesday, August 12, 2014
By Eric Brandner
Today, the audience gets to tell the story.
The photos of service members posing with Robin Williams flowing through
social media feeds the past 24 hours say more than any condolence statement
could.
There is Williams with a pair of female service members in Djibouti in
2004. Posing with a soldier after a long flight at Camp Speicher, Iraq, in
2007. Signing autographs during a holiday tour of Afghanistan in late 2010.
Those were hard times for people in uniform. But for a moment, Williams
managed to make almost everyone he met in those conflict zones smile.
“There were these guys behind a fence, across a berm [and] a field, and
they waved at him,” said USO Vice President of Entertainment Rachel Tischler,
recalling her time with Williams during the 2007 USO Chairman’s Holiday Tour.
“And he jumped across the berm and went running over to them. Obviously, our
security team completely freaked out. Again – height of the war here. But
he didn’t care. He just wanted to go over and shake their hands and thank them.
And that is what he was like.”
A friend and entertainer to American service members around the globe,
Williams was found dead in his Tiburon, California, home Monday afternoon in
what the Marin County Sheriff’s Office characterized as a suspected suicide. He
was 63.
Williams went on six USO tours from 2002 to 2013, including five
overseas. He visited troops in 12 foreign countries, making three stops to both
Iraq and Afghanistan.

The truth about
the incredible friendship of Robin Williams and Christopher Reeve
The year was 1973 and while 2000 students auditioned for just 20 spots in the freshman class at New York’s Julliard school for drama, Williams and Reeve were the only two students to make it into the advanced program.
They were roommates and often the only two students in class together. It was here they formed an inseparable bond.
While at Julliard they made a special pact — whoever ‘made it’ first would always support the other one. Reeve of course went on to be Superman, while Williams made a name for himself as one of the funniest comedians of his generation, or of any generation for that matter.

“Not true,” said both Reeve and Williams in 1996, however Williams admitted in 1999 that he did help out to some degree.
“We bought Chris a van and a generator,” Williams told The Mirror in 1999. “It was really frightening because where Chris and his family live in Connecticut the winters are very harsh. One night the generator they had for Chris crapped out, so there was Chris’s wife Dana outside in the middle of the night trying to hand-crank the thing. Now Chris has his own income because of his book, his record and various other sources so he’s financially independent and pays his own bills.”
However, Reeve told Barbara Walters that the greatest gift Williams ever gave him was the gift of laughter.
The Superman star said a few days after his accident he was sitting in a hospital bed with his “dark thoughts” when a Russian doctor walked in.
“I was hanging upside down, and I looked and saw a blue scrub hat and yellow gown and heard this Russian accent. There was Robin Williams being some insane Russian doctor,” he said. “I knew then: if I could laugh, I could live.”
Williams was reprising the character he played in the film Nine Months.
“The world has lost a tremendous activist and artist and an inspiration for people worldwide. I have lost a great friend,” he said.
It is a friendship that has endured, even in death. Reeve was the final person that Williams thanked as he was honoured with the Cecil B. DeMille Award at the Golden Globes in 2005.
“I just want to thank a very, very special person. I dedicate this award to the memory of a friend of mine. Chris Reeve, I miss you,” he said.
Then, looking towards Heaven and quoting Shakespeare’s Hamlet, Williams ended his acceptance speech.
“May flights of angels sing thee to thy rest, sweet prince.

Comic
and TV actor Shaun Majumder said in an email that Williams helped mould his
comedic instincts from a young age.“There is no doubt that he was a huge influence on me in my early days as a comedian… in fact he was an impact on me well before I was a comedian or actor which made me the most annoying 7 year old on the planet.”

Bruce Hills, the chief operating officer of the Just for Laughs international comedy festival in Montreal, calls Williams’ death “so sad on so many fronts.”
“Most importantly he leaves a wife and three kids behind but also millions of fans worldwide that will miss this very special artist, comedian and genuinely good person.”
Stand-up comic Gerry Dee remembered Williams for his ability to start off as a touring comedian who then make it big as a Hollywood star.
“He did what we’re all trying to do… take our stand up career into TV and movies. And he did it more than anyone and better than anyone. And he did it in drama, he did it in comedy,” Dee said in an interview.
Dee said Williams was a courageous comic who put so many “out there” styles in his stage act, such as his machine-gun speaking and stream-of-consciousness delivery.
“He just took chances. And I think any comedian will tell you that’s one of the hard parts of trying to be different. When you try to be different you fail a lot of times and you bail on it,” he said.
“But he never bailed on it. He always stayed true to himself.”
Stand-up Frank Spadone said it was a “sad day” for comedians everywhere.
“You’ve lost a very iconic, important person in your community,” he said in an interview.
“He was inspirational. He was funny, the way he committed himself to the characters (he played). The way he did everything.”
Spadone remembered catching Williams perform at a Toronto club while he shot a film in the city, and said the joint was packed with people for Williams’ impromptu open-mic gig.
“That place was just buzzing because he was in the place. That’s the kind of influence and that’s the kind of respect and reputation he had,” he said.
“Just everyone wanted to see him and be in the same room as him. And as a comic, everyone was just so excited that he was there.”
