CANADA: Terry Kelly - A Pittance of Time (Official
Version) - for our Veterans... and our Legions
On
November 11, 1999 Terry Kelly was in a drug store in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. At
10:55 AM an announcement came over the stores PA asking customers who would
still be on the premises at 11:00 AM to give two minutes of silence in respect
to the veterans who have sacrificed so much for us.
Terry
was impressed with the stores leadership role in adopting the Legions two
minutes of silence initiative. He felt that the stores contribution of
educating the public to the importance of remembering was commendable.
When
eleven oclock arrived on that day, an announcement was again made asking for
the two minutes of silence to commence. All customers, with the exception of a
man who was accompanied by his young child, showed their respect.
Terrys
anger towards the father for trying to engage the stores clerk in conversation
and for setting a bad example for his child was channeled into a beautiful
piece of work called, A Pittance of Time. Terry later recorded A Pittance of
Time and included it on his full-length music CD, The Power of the Dream.

Hall, V.C. was born in Summerville and was the first member of the Navy from
British North America to receive the Victoria Cross, the most prestigious of
military medals. William received the medal for a heroic rescue that he participated
in during the Indian Uprising of 1758. The rescue mission captured the
imagination of the Victorian public: the mission was known to every school boy
in the Empire. While initially buried without military honours in an unmarked
grave, William was later buried beneath a stone cairn on the lawn of the

Canadian Segways for Wounded Warriors - Here we donate Segway personal
transportation devices to wounded Canadian service members who have mobility
issues.
2.
Occupational Stress Injury Awareness - Not all war wounds are visible (i.e.
physical injuries or missing limbs). In fact a great majority of wounds are
non-visible, like that of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. These can go
undiagnosed and untreated for a long time. Wounded Warriors.ca firmly believes
in changing attitudes toward this, within the military and among Canadians. To
support this, Wounded Warriors.ca has supported programs with Veterans Affairs
Canada and the Department of National Defence;
3.
Padre's Contingency Fund - A benevolent fund for first-line caregivers at the
military hospital in Germany.

Individual Support - Helping Canadian Forces members and veterans in need on a
